science in design

Design b2b, the brainchild of two complementary designers, offers a wide range of projects from micro-technology to formal design.  From industrial design to product design and everything in between, Design b2b provides a unique approach, where engineering is systematically enhanced by esthetics.

nicolas boulé

Swiss engineer and designer Nicolas Laurent Boulé graduated from Geneva’s University of Applied Science and Arts (HES-SO). In 2001 he began his engineering career in a tech lab, working on practical applications of his research on materials. His career path then took him to the Swiss watch-making industry; He delved into all technical aspects of it, from conception in the industrialization department to Research and Development.

Convinced that a coherent product comes from the symbiosis between function and esthetics from the very start of its technical conception, he furthered his training with an Industrial Design degree before joining that same Swiss watch-making R&D branch.

In 2014, Boulé founded atelier niklaus & laurentino, a workshop studio promoting locally sourced materials in design projects.  His lamp creations, currently sold in Geneva stores, were on display at the Sicli Hall for the Geneva Design Days.  Boulé’s acclaimed lamp ‘W’ received high praise for its use of local Swiss wool, its design, its eco-friendly conception, and was a finalist in the Prix Piguet Galland design competition.
